LANSING, Mich., July 1, 2022 — Today, the Michigan House of Representatives passed the fiscal year 2023 budget. Included within are several positive allotments of state funds.  Eastpointe  Fire & Rescue will receive $600,000 for a much-needed new fire engine, $6.1 million for Selfridge Air National Guard Base modernization, $2 million has been allocated for the Selfridge Military Air Museum and $25 million will go to providing support to Macomb County Mental Health. This legislature provided the largest road infrastructure budget, with $32 million going to innovate the Mound Road Project. After the passing of the vote state Rep. Kevin Hertel (D-St. Clair Shores) made the following statement:

 

“This budget makes historic investments in critical areas across Macomb County. These funds will help families throughout our community by investing in our public schools, infrastructure and mental health services. Direct investments in the Mound Road Innovative Road Project, Selfridge Air National Guard Base and vital community services will strengthen our region. I am proud to work with my colleagues to bring these resources home.”
