LANSING, Mich., May 15, 2020
“The numbers are clear: we need additional support from the federal government for our state and local units of government to avoid massive layoffs to teachers, first responders, and healthcare workers. Long-term unemployment is avoidable, but since Michigan must have a balanced budget, the federal government needs to act to avoid draconian cuts. If it does not, it will be painful for our Michigan families and neighbors.”
State Rep. Jon Hoadley (D-Kalamazoo) serves as the Minority Vice Chair of the House Appropriations Committee.
