LANSING, Mich., Dec. 15, 2020 — State Rep. Rachel Hood (D-Grand Rapids) announced today the launch of the Grand Rapids Featured Frontliner program to commend and recognize local Frontline workers for their dedication to serving the Grand Rapids community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Beginning today, Rep. Hood will accept nominations through this link and the program will recognize ten Frontline workers over the coming months. Frontline workers include anyone who has continued working in an essential industry through the pandemic, such as the medical professionals and staff. Those workers who have sacrificed their personal safety to keep our hospitals and nursing homes running, social workers tirelessly coordinating help for those in need, teachers navigating online education, grocery workers keeping the shelves stocked, and tradespeople who have kept our lights on and homes warm, among many others.

“Our frontline workers have been vital to our community as we navigate this pandemic together,” said Hood. “We must make opportunities to highlight and recognize the individuals who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to support Grand Rapids.”

Selected Frontliners will receive a gift card and receive special recognition tribute from Representative Hood. To nominate a Frontliner for consideration, please submit information through this form.
