LANSING — An updated and expanded version of the School Aid budget passed the House by a vote of 91 to 18. In response, state Rep. Kara Hope (D-Holt), who voted against the budget, issued the following statement:
“There is no reasonable dispute that our public schools are terribly underfunded. The governor recommended increased education funding to start to remedy this. This budget comes nowhere close to providing the resources our children need, which is why I voted against it. My colleagues and I will continue working to ensure every student in Michigan has what they need to succeed.”
