Earlier this month, we passed the budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. A theme among our investments is ensuring Michigan’s infrastructure is strong. One crucial aspect of this is investing in various drinking water and wastewater projects by providing $82.2 million for water infrastructure. Investments from House Democrats aim to drastically transform the state’s transportation infrastructure by innovating the ways Michiganders get around the state. It doesn’t stop there — we also included funding to support the implementation of the Clean Energy Program. This will allow different entities to vie for grants to assist their organizations in aligning with renewable energy practices. In all, this budget prioritizes the maintenance and strengthening of Michigan’s infrastructure, creating opportunity for a stronger state.
