“It is incomprehensible that we have tragically lost 3,670 Michiganders to COVID-19, with the death toll rising each day, and Republican legislative leadership insists on playing games that jeopardize public safety with hollow legislative sessions and partisan power grabs.
The Legislature has important work to do. We must focus on responding to this deadly pandemic and tackling a looming state budget crisis, rather than waste precious time trying to inhibit the Governor’s ability to take steps necessary to protect and save lives during an emergency.
Enough with the political games and partisan antics. The Republican leadership in the Legislature needs to put their personal and political agendas aside, recognize the reality that we are in the midst of an unprecedented emergency, and get to work doing the People’s business, not the bidding of special interests.
