“As the 100th Legislature draws to a close, our most pressing priority must be passing legislation essential to the success of our state’s pandemic response. Inaction on both the surging virus and its devastating impact on our state’s economy is unacceptable.
“It’s time for the hyperpartisan political theater and divisive rhetoric to end. We must act immediately on bipartisan solutions to save lives and enable Michiganders to secure their essential needs — shelter, clean water, food, health care and economic opportunity — as we diligently work to combat COVID-19.
“We’ve already lost far too many loved ones, small businesses and educational opportunities for our children. Continued legislative inaction will serve only to compound the loss. We must come together, honor the oath that each of us took when we assumed our offices, and put the best interests of Michiganders first.”
