LANSING — Tonight, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer delivered her first State of the State address, outlining her vision for the state and calling for bipartisan collaboration to address the issues facing Michigan’s working families. In response, House Democratic Leader Christine Greig (D-Farmington Hills) issued the following statement:

“It is incredibly refreshing to hear a governor present her plans to actually get things done for our state. Michigan families deserve smooth roads, clean water and a world-class education to close the skills gap facing our workforce. I am eager to join Gov. Whitmer in making sure every person has the opportunity to succeed here in our state.”

Leader Greig was joined for the address by Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan; Wayne County Executive Warren Evans; Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel; Oakland County Commissioner David Woodward; and constituents Lydia Kukawka, Chris Holman, Renee Walker, Brendan Radtke and Jonah Stern.
