House Democratic Leader Tim Greimel Thanks Pearl Harbor Survivor at the State Capitol

House Democratic Leader Tim Greimel (D-Auburn Hills) shakes the hand of Don Bloomfield, a Midland resident who survived the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. Bloomfield was in the Michigan House of Representatives on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016, to commemorate the 75^th anniversary of the attack. On the “day that will live in infamy,” Bloomfield was a 20-year-old member of the Army Quartermaster Corps and a truck driver. He went on to serve in both the Pacific and in Europe in World War II, and received many honors, including two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star.
