LANSING, Mich., Dec. 15, 2021 — The Michigan Marijuana Regulatory Agency recently announced that Michigan Medical Marijuana Program patient and caregiver registry cards will be printed with the individual’s picture on them. With this change, the agency is now compliant with the law requiring the Secretary of State to provide your driver’s license to the MRA and has an agreement with 18 other states to accept Michigan Medical Marijuana cards. State Rep. Cynthia A. Johnson (D-Detroit) issued the following response in support:
“It makes no sense that another state can refuse to give someone their medication just because their face isn’t on their medical marijuana card. I’m glad the MRA made this necessary change so no one in this state has to worry about whether they will be turned away from the medication they need. Not only does this bring us into compliance, but it also helps end the stigma around medical marijuana.”
