LANSING — Today Gov. Whitmer outlined the 2019-20 fiscal year budget proposal for a joint session of the House and Senate Appropriations committees. In response, State Rep. Cynthia A. Johnson (D-Detroit) issued the following statement:

“For years Michigan’s budget did not reflect the values of our state’s working families. Thankfully Gov. Whitmer is here to do things differently and has proposed a budget that puts much-needed support and funding back into our schools.  I’m pleased we finally have a partner in the governor’s office working to show the people of Michigan that they come first.”
