DAVISON — In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s enduring legacy, state Rep. Sheryl Kennedy (D-Davison) spent Monday volunteering at the United Way of Genesee County’s annual Day of Service at the Dort Federal Union Event Center in Flint. Volunteers packed 150,000 meals for local residents and families experiencing hunger and food insecurity. After the event, Kennedy issued the following statement:

“Dr. King told us that it is what we do for others in life that makes us who we are. If we want to be defined only by the content of our character, we must commit ourselves to fighting injustice through service each and every day. I challenge all members of our community to use this opportunity to lend a helping hand to our neighbors in need.”
