Division 1 title win was first in school’s history

LANSING, Mich., Feb. 5, 2020 — State Rep. Sheryl Kennedy (D-Davison) welcomed the reigning Division 1 State Champion Davison High School Football Team to the Capitol today to celebrate the players’ historic win and to officially recognize their achievement. This was the first MHSAA football title win in the school’s history.

“I am so proud of Davison’s incredible student-athletes, and of the coaches, teachers and administrators that tirelessly and passionately supported them on this journey,” said Kennedy. “As a Cardinal myself, I wanted to make sure our new hometown heroes received some well-deserved recognition for their hard work and determination. We’ll be remembering this victory for years to come. Go Cards!”

Davison High School finished the season with a strong 12-2 record after beating Brighton 35-25 in the state championship game at Ford Field.
