LANSING, Mich., Jan. 22, 2021 — House Democratic Whip Matt Koleszar (D-Plymouth) was appointed yesterday to serve as the Democratic Vice Chair of the House Committee on Elections and Ethics, as well as return to his role serving on the House Committee on Education. Koleszar is serving his second term representing Michigan’s 20th House District, prior to which he spent over 12 years as a public school teacher. Koleszar issued the following statement:
“As an AP Government teacher, education and election law are two of my passions. These appointments will provide me with the opportunity to influence real change in fields that are incredibly relevant to the crises we’ve faced over the past year. I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues to do right by Michigan’s voters, students and teachers.”
