PLYMOUTH – State Rep. Matt Koleszar (D-Plymouth), Attorney General Dana Nessel and Wayne County Commissioner Melissa Daub met with residents at a town hall on Monday, June 24, to discuss issues relevant to seniors in the community. Nessel provided information about her recently announced Elder Abuse Task Force and representatives from The Senior Alliance were on hand to share available resources. The event received an impressive turnout from seniors eager to ask important questions and learn about various assistance they may be eligible to receive.
“Seniors are a vital part of our community,” said Koleszar. “They have made great contributions throughout their life and it’s our duty to offer a helping hand to those that laid the groundwork for where we are today. I’m proud to be a strong advocate for our seniors in the Legislature and will continue working to ensure they have access to the resources they deserve.”
Those who were unable to attend the event but still wish to receive information about available resources and legislative issues relevant to seniors can contact Koleszar’s office by phone at (517) 373-3816, by email at MattKoleszar@house.mi.gov, or by stopping by his office in Lansing.
