LANSING — Tonight, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer delivered her first State of the State address, outlining her vision for the state and calling for bipartisan collaboration to address the issues facing Michigan’s working families. In response, state Rep. Matt Koleszar (D-Plymouth) issued the following statement:
“Strong public schools are the foundation of Michigan’s future success. As a former teacher, I appreciate Gov. Whitmer recognizing the need to better prioritize funding for our young people in the classroom and I am excited to partner with her to make Michigan a national leader in education once again.”
Rep. Koleszar was joined by Nancy Sullivan, a retired teacher from Plymouth-Canton Community Schools.
