LANSING, Mich., May 10, 2022 — The House of Representatives voted today to send a proposed amendment to the Michigan Constitution to the November ballot. The amendment would require annual financial disclosure from legislators and state officers and change the number of years an individual can serve in the Legislature. After the vote, state Rep. Matt Koleszar (D-Plymouth) issued the following statement:

“Michigan is one of just two states that doesn’t require financial disclosure from legislators, and today, I’m proud to take us one step closer to joining the other 48 states. I’m also glad that this proposal will go before the voters in November. An issue of this importance deserves to be approved at the ballot box.”
