LANSING — Students from the Wayne Memorial High School’s Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Zebra Battalion spent the day at the state Capitol on April 11 and were hosted by state Representative Robert L. Kosowski (D-Westland) and state Senator Hoon-Yung Hopgood (D-Taylor). The students were recognized by the House and Senate chambers and had lunch with Kosowski and Hopgood.
“It was an honor to speak with the cadets and to be able to spend time with these impressive young adults,” Kosowski said. “I am filled with hope when seeing young adults participate in character-building activities like the JROTC that prepare them for public service and leadership roles. These students are truly the leaders of tomorrow.”
