“For months now, the people of our state have faced incredible barriers to their pathways forward due to the COVID-19 pandemic, especially for those navigating the channels to access unemployment benefits. The supplemental funding we passed will serve as a vital step toward getting us back on track for overcoming these hardships, including the $29.1 million in added funding for 500 UIA staff members. I’m proud to continue working hand-in-hand with my colleagues in the Legislature to offer the support our public health professionals, educators, community businesses and hardworking Michiganders truly deserve from their government officials.”
