“Growing up, my parents instilled strong family values in me in our everyday lives, and as an adult, I understands that this includes taking the responsibility to be there for each other when we are in need. As such, I am responding to a family emergency that requires me to travel outside of the district for the week of Aug. 15. I want to assure my constituents and anyone who needs to contact my office that my staff will still be working diligently to respond to requests and will update me upon my return.
