LANSING — The House Energy Committee voted yesterday to report out House Resolution 41 along partisan lines to denounce a non-binding federal resolution introduced by the U.S. House and Senate called the “Green New Deal”. In response, state Rep. Padma Kuppa (D-Troy) issued the following statement:

“Although I came to Lansing to work with my colleagues across party lines to support our communities, yesterday I was disappointed by the committee approval of HR 41. Resolutions like this diminish the bipartisan spirit everyone mutually agreed on at the beginning of this session, and only serves to bring the rancor of national politics here to Lansing. We should instead be focusing on real solutions to the many energy issues people in our state are facing at this very moment, which is what we were all sent here to do, not waste our time and taxpayer dollars discussing what's happening in Washington, D.C.”
