LANSING — Tonight, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer gave her first State of the State address, outlining her vision for the state and calling for bipartisan collaboration to address the issues that matter most to Michigan’s working families. In response, state Rep. David LaGrand (D-Grand Rapids) issued the following statement

“One of the things I have always respected about Gov. Whitmer is her dedication and collaborative work. As we listened to her address tonight, I was pleased to have as my guest another person whom I respect, Mayor Rosalynn Bliss. I have worked with Mayor Bliss over the last decade, and I am excited to continue working with her to improve the lives of Grand Rapidians and to begin working with Gov. Whitmer to build a better state for us all.”

Rep. LaGrand was joined by Rosalynn Bliss, Mayor of Grand Rapids.
