LANSING — Today, state Rep. David LaGrand (D-Grand Rapids) was named Democratic vice chair of the House Judiciary committee for the 2019-2020 legislative session. In response to his appointment, Rep. LaGrand issued the following statement:
“I take the responsibility of reforming our justice system and improving judicial protocols seriously, so I look forward to serving as Democratic vice chair on the committee. There are many steps we can take to ensure our judicial system works better for Michiganders of all economic backgrounds, and I’m grateful Speaker Chatfield gave me the opportunity to help spearhead that process. I am eager to deliver a better justice system to the people of Michigan, and this is an excellent start.”
