Hello Friends,

This is just a brief reminder about my upcoming town hall on lead and community resources, where you can ask me and my panelists questions and receive information on lead abatement and other ways to keep your home and family safe.

Lead Town Hall

When:  Thursday, Aug. 5, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 5:15 p.m.

Where: Douglass Community Association at 1000 W. Paterson in Kalamazoo.

Who:  I will be joined by Matt Milcarek from Kalamazoo Neighborhood Housing

Services Inc.; Dr. Carolyn Whatley, Chief Medical Officer at Family Health Center; and representatives from the MDHHS Lead Services Section and the city of Kalamazoo.

Other local community organizations will also be on-site with resources. Advance registration is not required; if you would like to RSVP, please either email us at julierogers@house.mi.gov or phone us at (517) 373-1785. Light refreshments will be provided. The town hall will follow CDC guidelines, and while not required, mask wearing is encouraged.
