A new loan program is available that’s geared toward helping Michigan homeowners looking to replace their faulty septic systems. The Septic Replacement Loan Program (SRLP), developed in partnership between the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) and Michigan Saves, offers low-interest loans for septic system replacement. Homeowners can receive financing up to $50,000, making it easier to replace failing or nearly failing septic systems. This program not only supports homeowners financially but also plays a crucial role in protecting our environment. By addressing failing septic systems, we can reduce the occurrence of untreated wastewater contaminating our surface and drinking water, ensuring a cleaner and healthier Michigan for future generations.
