LANSING — State Rep. Leslie Love (D-Detroit) was sworn in officially today as representative for the 10th House District for the 2019-2020 legislative session. The swearing-in ceremony marked the formal opening of Michigan’s 100th Legislature. In response, Rep. Love issued the following statement:

“Michigan’s 100th Legislature is set to be historic, with the most African American women and people of color serving in our state’s history. The Democratic Caucus looks like America in its diversity, and I’m looking forward to addressing the problems that minorities, families and working-class individuals grapple with every single day. Everyday quality of life issues like under and unemployment, access to quality health care and fresh food, the high cost of auto insurance, our lack of sound infrastructure, and providing quality education for all students are my priorities. I am also looking forward to working alongside a dynamic Democratic administration that shares in those focuses and ideals. I’m entering this term hopeful, and I look forward to working with colleagues new and old, on both sides of the aisle and in both chambers, who will join me in putting Michigan first.”
