DETROIT — State Rep. Leslie Love (D-Detroit) is announcing that she will host her next “After Work with the Rep” event on Monday, June 12, starting with a tour of the neighborhoods of the 10th District. The bus tour leaves promptly at 5 p.m. from 20131 James Couzens Freeway in Detroit. Following the tour will be a discussion on community development projects until 7 p.m., taking place at the same location as the tour launch. An RSVP is required for the bus tour because of limited seats.

“With the recent passage of the so-called ‘MiThrive’ bills that passed the Legislature to incentivize brownfield redevelopment, this is an issue that many people are talking about,” Love said. “I look forward to leading this tour and having a discussion about what development should look like and how to make it work best for the residents of my district.

Space for the tour is full, but residents can contact Love’s office at (855) 568-3010 or LeslieLove@house.mi.gov to be placed on a waiting list. No RSVP is necessary for the discussion.

Also on Monday, Love will host her monthly “Sweet Tea with Me” events, with discussion centered around the MiThrive legislation. The coffee hours take place from 9-10 a.m. at McDonald’s, 14204 W. 7 Mile Road in Detroit, and from 11 a.m. to noon at McDonald’s 25830 Plymouth Road in Redford.
