HAZEL PARK, Mich., Dec. 17, 2024 — The Hazel Park District Library successfully installed new learning pods funded by a $100,000 investment secured in the fiscal year 2023-2024 state budget with the help of state Rep. Mike McFall (D-Hazel Park) and his fellow lawmakers.
This initiative is a significant enhancement to the library’s resources, offering a private space for studying, meetings, and more. Whether for students seeking a focused environment for their studies, remote workers needing a temporary office, or small groups collaborating on projects, the pods cater to a diverse range of needs.
“I’m thrilled to see this project come to fruition,” McFall said. “These new learning pods will support Hazel Park District Library in providing access to knowledge and opportunities to the community. This investment underscores Michigan Dems’ commitment to education and to ensuring that every resident has the resources they need to succeed.”
“In today’s fast-paced world, having a quiet place to think, learn, and create is more essential than ever. I’m proud to have played a role in bringing this innovative solution to Hazel Park,” McFall continued.
The pods are equipped with state-of-the-art soundproofing technology, ensuring that users can work in peace without the distractions of the outside environment. They are now available for public use during the library’s regular hours, and the library staff will be on hand to assist patrons with any questions they may have about the new facilities.
