LANSING, Mich., Dec. 16, 2024 — A shooting took place at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisc., today. At least three people are confirmed dead, and six others are injured. In response, Michigan Firearm Safety and Violence Prevention Chair and state Rep. Felicia Brabec (D-Pittsfield Township) issued the following statement:
“It is heartbreaking to hear the news of today’s mass school shooting. Gun violence has taken the lives of far too many people. The impact that shootings have on a community is never fully mended. Honestly, I’m a bit lost for words — as chair of this MFSVP caucus, I can say quite firmly that there have been far too many shootings — it is truly devastating. As a neighboring state that has unfortunately had several shootings, we acknowledge and understand the pain and shock that it brings — you are not alone.”
