LANSING, Mich., Nov. 30, 2023 — Today marks the second anniversary of the Oxford High School shooting. On this day at Michigan’s Oxford High School, a shooter took the lives of four classmates and wounded seven others. The Michigan Firearm Safety and Violence Prevention Caucus issued the following statement in response to this day:
“The mark of grief can never be erased. Today we remember those who lost their lives and those whose lives will never be the same. The Michigan Firearm Safety and Violence Prevention Caucus continues to express our sincere condolences to the Oxford community and families who experienced unimaginable loss two years ago. We will also continue to honor those affected through legislative action to protect Michigan communities from this kind of senseless violence.”
