LANSING, Mich., July 11, 2022 — Organizers for the Reproductive Freedom for All petition delivered signatures to the Bureau of Elections today. The petition would amend the Michigan Constitution to ensure that no one goes to prison for providing safe medical care as well as ensure access to a broad range of reproductive health care, including abortion. State Rep. Christine Morse (D-Texas Township) issued the following statement on the delivery of the signatures:

“I have said it before, but it is worth saying over and over again — access to reproductive health is a basic human right. I am obviously not the only Michigander who knows this because a record-breaking 750,000 signatures were collected to put protecting reproductive freedoms on the ballot in November. Now the power to enshrine reproductive rights in the state constitution is in the hands of the people.”
