LANSING, Mich., Feb. 26, 2025 — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer delivered her seventh State of the State Address before a joint legislative session tonight. In her speech, the governor discussed her plan to lower costs for families ahead of more looming tariffs, increase the workforce and deliver results for the people of Michigan. After the address, state Rep. Cynthia Neeley (D-Flint) issued the following statement:
“Flint Housing Commission David A. Northern Sr., CEO and Geraldine Redmond, FHC Board president were two of my guests tonight at the event. So, it was welcomed news when the governor discussed her priority for affordable housing expansion! Affordable housing is a crucial need in our community and these efforts would help build or renovate over 11,000 homes! I thank both the CEO and President of the Flint Housing Commission for their continued efforts in our hometown; their work changes so many lives.”
