LANSING, Mich., Oct. 22, 2020 — Last week Gov. Whitmer signed House Bill 6119, making it Public Act 205 of 2020. The bill amends the State Convention Facility Development Act to redirect $10 million from the Conventional Facility Development Fund to the General Fund for fiscal year 2020 only and provide funding for street railway systems and local governments. State Rep. Cynthia R. Neeley (D-Flint), who sponsored the bill, issued the following statement:
“This year has been difficult for all Michiganders, but over the last several months, I have seen our strength shine through this adversity. This year’s budget process was challenging, but my colleagues and I were able to come together to account for the effects of the pandemic while ensuring that all of our critical services were funded, including improved public transit and support for local governments. While we still face a lot of uncertainty in the weeks and months ahead, I’ll continue doing all I can to make sure the families of Flint have what they need to thrive.”
