Dear friends,

I hope you have been enjoying your summer and are ready for some cooler temperatures as fall weather approaches! This summer, I have been busy here at home speaking with all of you and learning more about your values and what matters most to your families. I have also been advocating on your behalf in Lansing to encourage greater support for our Ypsilanti, Ypsilanti Township and Superior Township communities.

On that front, I am pleased to announce that the Michigan Strategic Fund board yesterday awarded the Ypsilanti Downtown Development Authority (YDDA) $300,000 in façade restoration funds to support its current restoration and improvement program. These funds will allow the YDDA to continue its work to update and beautify our community, which will in turn create more job opportunities and bring in visitors to our growing downtown area. This award is well-earned, and I want to extend congratulations to the YDDA members for their excellent work in capturing these funds. A big thank you, too, to my good friends on the board of the Michigan Strategic Fund and at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. If my staff and I are unable to help you, we will direct you to someone who can. Please watch your email box and check my website at Peterson.housedems.com for future updates.

Sincerely,
Ronnie Peterson
State Representative
