O’Neal will continue to play critical role in the advancement of hunting and angling rights

SAGINAW, Mich., Feb. 12, 2024 — The National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses (NASC) Executive Council voted state Rep. Amos O’Neal (D-Saginaw) to become a full voting member of the NASC Executive Committee. O’Neal had served as an alternate member since 2023 and was officially elected to fill a vacant seat.

“I am happy to be named as a voting member for this Executive Committee and look forward to the year ahead,” O’Neal said. “In my new role, I will work alongside members of the committee and the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation to promote pro-sportsmen ideas and strengthen relationships between state caucuses, conservation partners and allied industries.”

Established in 2004 by the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation, NASC works to protect and advance hunting, angling, recreational shooting, trapping and professional fish and wildlife management in state capitols. With more than 2,000 legislators who are members of state legislative sportsmen’s caucuses from all 50 states, this unprecedented network of pro-sportsmen legislators provides support among state sportsmen’s caucuses, which is critical to advancing pro-sportsmen policies across the nation.

“Michigan is the perfect place to hunt and fish. Our unique lakes and beautiful lands are spectacular. Being outdoors is a blessing — I truly love going fishing and duck hunting. These pastimes are special to me,” O’Neal said. “As I continue my work as a representative on NASC’s Executive Committee, I will protect our lands and play a critical part in promoting sportsmen and women. I’ve served as co-chair of the Michigan Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus, and, with this new appointment, I will bring that same enthusiasm at a national level.”
