LANSING, Mich., June 30, 2022 — Today, the House of Representatives passed the fiscal year 2023 state budget. The budget allots funds specifically for teacher recruitment for career and technical education (CTE). In response, state Rep. Amos O’Neal (D-Saginaw) made the following statement: 

 

“Today’s approved budget directly supports the future education and future leaders of Saginaw. The state has awarded the CTE program a total of $10 million for teacher recruitment. These funds carve out and contribute to the momentum of the program. It raises the standard and quality of education for those seeking alternative pathways to employment in the skilled trades. These funds are priceless for the future and the quality of our community.”
