LANSING, Mich. Jan. 11, 2023 — State Rep. Amos O’Neal was elected executive vice chair of the Michigan Legislative Black Caucus (MLBC). The MLBC is a bicameral coalition of state legislators committed to ensuring all citizens of Michigan have equal opportunity.
“I am humbled to be elected as executive vice chair of the MLBC,” O’Neal said. “Being a part of this caucus means seeking change and finding solutions that enhance the communities we live in, not only for Black and other people of color but for all Michiganders. I am excited to play a larger part in this caucus and continue to make our state more socially and economically just.”
The MLBC focuses on many issues communities face, such as economic growth, early childhood education, health care, senior living and protecting our natural resources. The caucus also hosts many events and programs around the state.
“The MLBC is at the forefront of advocating for change in Michigan. I encourage individuals to step up and reach out to our caucus about issues that affect them,” O’Neal said. “Using your voice is the first step for demanding change. At any time you have concerns or questions, we are here to help. We provide legislative power with a purpose.”
