LANSING, Mich., July 3, 2024 — State Rep. Amos O’Neal (D-Saginaw) was named the Legislator of the Year by the Michigan County Social Services Association. The MCSSA is a statewide organization whose mission is strengthening Michigan’s human services systems through advocacy and education. After receiving the award, O’Neal issued the following statement:
“I am deeply honored and blessed to receive this recognition from the MCSSA. I have always been and remain an advocate for Michigan’s human services in the Legislature. I will continue my work to ensure these programs have every resource they need to continue their vital work. The recent passage of the 2024-25 state budget demonstrates our commitment to funding public health and human services programs that are essential for Michiganders.”
