Please join us for the clean water, clean air press conference. This Friday, June 11, starting at 10 a.m. at US1 Auto 13155 Plymouth Road in Detroit. Rep. Karen Whitsett and Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan will be hosting a press conference on Friday, June 11 at 10 a.m. This press conference will discuss the steps being taken on a legislative level to address the environmental impact on the District 9 Community. The new legislation will raise fines to $25,000 and $50,000 per day for the companies that fail to meet compliance regulations. This bill will also increase the offense for failed compliance from a misdemeanor to a felony with possible jail time up to a year and fines up o $100,000. Please note: District 9 residents are encouraged to attend the press conference to support greener, more sustainable living conditions for our community. |
