LANSING — The Michigan House passed two critically needed supplemental budget bills last night with overwhelming bipartisan support. In response, state Rep. Laurie Pohutsky (D-Livonia) issued the following statement:
“Although it was not an easy process to get to this point, I’m proud to see what we can accomplish when we take the time to listen to our communities, set our differences aside and reach across the aisle to do the work we were sent here to do.
“Through these supplemental budgets, I worked with my colleagues both across the aisle and in the Senate to secure vital funding for literacy programs at Livonia’s public schools, as well as much needed resources for a Substance Use Disorder Program at St. Mary’s Hospital. I know how important both these services are to the people of Livonia, and I’m glad that we could come together to deliver.”
