LANSING, Mich., Sept. 23, 2021 — The Michigan House of Representatives passed a budget for the upcoming fiscal year with historic investments in health care, child care, education and infrastructure. State Rep. Ranjeev Puri (D-Lansing) issued the following statement in support of the budget:
“Today, we can rightfully celebrate all of the transformational investments included in this budget. With over $1.5 billion invested in the Child Development and Care Program, we’re bringing affordable, high-quality child care to an additional 105,000 kids. We’re also making sure the colleges and universities they’ll eventually attend have the resources they need to succeed for years to come. Our caucus focused on making big, sweeping changes to our infrastructure, education and children, and we delivered. This budget shows that our state is finally committed to uplifting our children and making long-term investments in their future.”
