“So much is at stake now that the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearings for Judge Amy Coney Barrett are underway. Now, more than ever, we need to advocate for the MI Reproductive Health Act (RHA) on behalf of the people of our state. Based on current law, an overturn of Roe v. Wade will put Michigan at risk of being propelled by a conservative governor and Legislature into the dark ages of reproductive health care options.

“The RHA would serve as one of our last lines of defense for individuals seeking safe, medically-sound reproductive care and services that are best for their unique circumstance in Michigan. Our Republican colleagues have decided playing partisan politics on behalf of the vocal few is more important than recognizing the will of the vast majority of Michiganders by refusing to take up this vital reproductive health legislation.

“Our state is at a crossroads; collective action, or lack thereof, will send a message loud and clear about what kind of place and future we each believe in for Michigan.”
