“Michiganders can sleep a little easier knowing that Right to Life’s attempt to override medical advice and expertise ended when they fell short of the number of signatures needed to enact an extreme abortion ban. The majority of voters agree that certain politicians should not stand in the way of personal decision making, especially when it comes to reproductive health care. However, the threat of taking away an individual’s right to bodily autonomy is ever persistent.
“The Progressive Women’s Caucus will continue to push for the passage of the Reproductive Health Act that guarantees individuals are free to make their own independent decisions about their reproductive health, without political interference. Health care decisions are complex and deeply personal, and no one should have to worry about what a well-funded organization can do when given the opportunity.”
Members of the Progressive Women’s Caucus Executive Committee include state Reps. Kristy Pagan, Kyra Bolden, Rachel Hood, Mari Manoogian and state Sen. Stephanie Chang.
