House Dems Call for Legislature to Bring Home Federal COVID Relief Dollars
LANSING, Mich., Oct. 20, 2021 — House Democratic Leader Donna Lasinski (D-Scio Township) and State Rep. Lori M. Stone (D-Warren) will hold a press conference on Thursday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. to call on the Michigan Legislature to appropriate federal funding collecting dust in Washington, D.C., since Dec. 21, 2020. More than $500 million of the several billions of dollars that remain unspent is dedicated to fighting COVID-19. As Michigan has one of the highest case counts in the nation, it is imperative that the Legislature act on a bipartisan basis to bring this money home, where it is urgently needed.
