“I could not support raising taxes on seniors and other residents, gutting our children’s education and abandoning working families – all without a guarantee of a single new job. This plan does the opposite of what so many residents are telling me they want for our state.
“Workers shouldn’t have to give the government more of their paycheck. Seniors shouldn’t have to worry about whether they can pay for medications or food. Working families shouldn’t have to be forced onto welfare just to survive. And our kids shouldn’t have to go to terrible schools where they will be ill-prepared for the workplace and for life.
“All this plan does is shift the tax burden to average residents and make more empty promises of jobs. That will only hurt our economic recovery, not get it going.”
