TRENTON, Mich., April 7, 2022 — In response to the United States Senate voting to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court, Rep. Darrin Camilleri (D-Trenton) issued the following statement:

“I am thrilled by Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s deserving confirmation to the highest court in our country. Her confirmation affirms for so many of us that the court reflects the brilliance and diversity of the United States. Justice Brown Jackson will undoubtedly inspire future generations to achieve whatever they set their minds to, and I look forward to her voice being on the Supreme Court for many decades to come.”

Before becoming a judge, Jackson worked as a public defender. Afterwards, she served eight years as a federal trial court judge, and was confirmed for a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia in June of 2021.
