MASON — State Rep. Tom Cochran (D-Mason) will host a town hall event to discuss Michigan’s budget process. Special guests will include Michigan State University economics professor Charles Ballard and Rachel Richards, the legislative coordinator for the Michigan League for Public Policy. “While the budget might seem like a confusing or even tedious process, in truth, our state’s budget is a declaration of our government’s priorities,” Rep. Cochran said. “Michigan roads continue to crumble, and local schools continue to fall behind schools in other states, while companies that are already profitable continue to get handouts — which means that the wishes of wealthy corporations and CEOs have been placed above the needs of working families and small businesses. A government that listens to its people will prioritize their concerns, and its budget will reflect that.”
The event will be held:
- Monday, March 26, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Mason Historical Museum, 200 E. Oak St. in Mason.
Residents of Rep. Cochran’s district in Ingham County who cannot attend are encouraged to contact him at (517) 373-0587 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
