“While I recognize that changes must be made to turn Michigan around, I believe these changes will turn our state in the wrong direction.

“As a former small business owner, I am committed to supporting our businesses so they can create jobs. Giving corporations an 82 percent tax break only shifts the burden on to our residents who can least afford it, though – our seniors, our working families, and ultimately, our children, who will pay for it with a substandard education. And this permanent tax shift makes no guarantee of a single new job. In fact, these tax increases will kill jobs because people will have less money to spend at local businesses in our community.

“The Legislature should listen to people from all around Michigan who are saying loud and clear that this is not the path for Michigan to take.”
