DETROIT – State Representative LaTanya Garrett (D-Detroit) hosted a meet and greet in her district today, allowing constituents to talk with her about what is happening in state government. Garrett hopes to be very accessible to her constituents while she serves as state representative.

“Being a state representative is more than just going to Lansing, sitting on the floor of the House and voting on bills,” said Garrett. “I need to be their voice at the Capitol and a resource to them in the community.”

The meet and greet was at Maggie Lee’s Community Center, at 7700 Puritan Ave. in Detroit, from 5 to 7 p.m.

“Those who were not able to come will have ample opportunities to speak with me,” said Garrett. “I urge anyone who has a question or concern they feel I can help with to call my office, toll-free, at (855) 647-3707. I work for them, and it is an honor to do so.”
