LANSING – State Representative Vanessa Guerra (D-Saginaw) has been appointed as minority vice chairwoman of the House Criminal Justice Committee. Rep. Guerra is currently attending the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where she is studying public interest law.
“When I began my journey to the Capitol, I wanted to help the people of my district and Michigan as a whole,” Guerra said. “In this position, with my background and passion for the law, I will be able to fulfill my promise to my constituents to represent them in a manner they deserve.”
Rep. Guerra was also appointed to the House Judiciary and Communications and Technology committees.
“I’m eager to get to work, forging legislation that will benefit all Michiganders to see them succeed and grow,” Guerra said. “It’s time to move Michigan forward.”
